Guest Teacher
James started dancing at the age of 16: At Cirencester College he achieved high results in A Level and BTEC Dance, as well as training at CCDA. He was awarded a full scholarship (DADA) award to train at Stella Mann vocational College, studying Dance. After graduating he worked professionally abroad until he realised his calling for teaching dance. Whilst completing his studies for a top-up degree he gained valuable work experience in teaching dance; James then completed a PGCE in Secondary Dance Education at Brighton University, graduating with his Master’s Credits, as an outstanding teacher.
Since graduating, James has progressed through the management ranks within the state education sector, including Head of Performing Arts, Head of Sixth Form and an Assistant Headteacher. James has been a moderator and examiner for GCSE Dance and BTEC Dance. Additionally, James was invited to be a teacher assessor for BBO for their level 5 teacher training programme.
James is also a qualified ID Contemporary Dance teacher and an approved teacher for BBO. In 2019 James was also lucky enough to be invited into the prestigious ‘Overture’ programme delivered by Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures Dance Company.
