Terms & Conditions

By enrolling at CCDA, you are bound by the terms & conditions below and we reserve the right to refuse entry to classes if these rules are not complied with. CCDA reviews and amends its policies and regulations on a regular basis and advises parents to read this document thoroughly.

1-CLASS PROTOCOLS & Child protection

  • Cirencester Creative Dance Academy teachers are responsible for students during lesson time ONLY. If you have a break between lessons, you will need to make arrangements for supervision.
  • Late pickups are ONLY available by prior arrangement. NB late pickups fee may be charged.
  • Please ensure your child has been to the toilet before class commences.
  • Parents are not permitted to watch classes unless specifically asked to do so. There will be opportunities throughout the year to view the children’s progress.
  • Discussions with teachers before or after classes should be avoided, as this will impact on the time available for all following classes. If you have any queries or concerns, please contact us by email or by phone 07730497023 (I am available most mornings.)
  • If a lesson is cancelled due to a staff illness (e.g. sickness bug etc), then an extra lesson will be arranged at a later date to replace the cancelled class but no refunds will be given.
  • Should a lesson need to be cancelled due to extreme weather conditions e.g., snow, or the venue closing, the lessons will NOT be re-arranged or reimbursed due to the factor

2-UNIFORM

Regulation uniform must be worn for all classes & rehearsals. The online shop link can be pasted into your browser https://ccd.mydancestore.co.uk/

  • Please name all your dance kit.
  • HAIR- A classical Bun, or Ponytail in a plait are the acceptable hairstyles for classes.
  • A strict NO Jewellery rule applies to all students-only stud earrings are acceptable, but must be removed for performances & examinations.
  • NO chewing gum is allowed in class or the building.
  • MOBILE phones are not permitted in class. DO NOT bring any valuables into the school.
  • To avoid damage to Dance shoes do not wear other than within the dance school.

3-EXAMS & Assessments

Parents will be advised by email when their child is ready to enter an examination, or to be entered for an in-house assessment- Examinations require a lot of hard work, dedication and require attendance of extra examination classes.

If a pupil wishes to undertake auditions or other classes at a different school it is professional etiquette to contact the school for permission to be granted.

4-ENROLMENT & NOTICE conditions

All customers must on their pupil’s behalf complete the online registration on Class Manager and have received your welcome email outlining class details before any classes are attended.

  • Please note we run a continuous enrolment.
  • A full Terms notice must be given before removing a child from lessons or payment for outstanding fees is required.
  • Unless we receive written notice by half term notice date (first Monday of half term) you will be liable for next terms fees.
  • All fees are payable in advance, non-transferable and non-refundable.

5–MEDICAL INFORMATION

Please ensure you fill out the medical section on the enrolment registration on class manager, so that we can act appropriately for your child. This includes any health complaints or allergies. Please update as needed.

6-UPDATING INFORMATION

The school must be notified of any changes of address, contact number and email address, please update this on the parents’ portal on class manager, as well as any health issue changes.

Please advise by email, if your child will be absent from class, and the reason for this.

NB- The school reserves the right to end a student’s attendance at the school for reasons such as non-payment of fees, incorrect dress, or unacceptable behaviour.

7-EXTRAORDINARY ILLNESS

In the event of a pandemic e.g. (COVID-19) lessons will be transferred to Zoom classes. No refunds will be given and lessons will be transferred to Zoom classes.

If a teacher has to isolate or is taken ill with Covid-19, where possible CCDA will provide a cover teacher for the class if guidelines allow or transfer the lessons to Zoom (this maybe on a different day/time to normal class time).

If a student has to self-isolate then no refunds will be issued.

PUPILS

Be respectful of everyone. Everyone is working their hardest and deserves support and friendship. Treat each other well. Do not bully or be unkind to others because they are different from you in any way. Always try your hardest. Do your best for yourself, not for other people and be proud of everything you achieve. Do not harm anyone else intentionally either with your words or your actions. Dress appropriately. Explain absences. Join in. Talk to us about anything that worries you, help us to help keep you safe.

PARENTS

Be supportive of all our pupils, do not encourage unhealthy competition, and do not ridicule any child for their efforts or for their differences. Enable your child to do their best for themselves, support them with attendance, uniform and taking part. Tell us what is important to you and discuss any concerns to help us, as staff, to do the best for your child. Support staff to enable them to do the best.

TEACHERS

All teachers have undergone, safe guarding training, first aid training and are DBS checked. All teachers will encourage all pupils to do their best. Making sure that the time they spend with us is fun as well as productive, learn new skills or improving other skills every session. Allow children and young people the opportunity to express their views and join in on decision making. Give children and young people a full and enjoyable experience of the dance world. Respect diversity and equal opportunity. Keep up to date with training skills and legislation. Demonstrate openly that we support our young people and will keep them safe from harm for example bullying.
